Hearts Entwined: A Historical Romance Novella Collection by Karen Witemeyer, Mary Connealy, Regina Jennings and Melissa Jagears

HE

I was so excited to read Hearts Entwined: A Historical Romance Novella Collection and it did not disappoint!

The Love Knot by Karen Witemeyer – A Ladies of Harper’s Station Novella
Claire Nevin has been a recurring character throughout the series and it’s finally her time to shine!  How will she handle a visit from Pieter, a man from her past?  Their trust in each other has already been tested – will the unexpected twists they encounter only make things worse?  Claire and Pieter’s tale moved at an excellent pace.  I read this story in in one sitting – I didn’t want to put it down!  The epilogue was perfect – a great conclusion to the Ladies of Harper’s Station series!

The Tangled Ties That Bind by Mary Connealy – A Kinkaid Brides Novella
What a fun group of characters!  I have yet to read the series these characters originate from but absolutely want to go back and learn about this family!  This was an enjoyable story, filled with great action and intense doctoring scenes.  While this was the shortest of the novellas, the delivery was well planned.  This was a fun read!

Bound and Determined by Regina Jennings – A Fort Reno Novella
Camels.  Crossing the Indian Territory.  Of America.  Seriously?!?!  I loved it!
This novella was quite funny! The banter between Bradley and Ambrosia was great! Bradley and his mischievous ways come head to head with Ambrosia’s sabotage attempts…this was so fun to read!  I’m hoping we see these two again in future Fort Reno books!  Nicely done!

Tied and True by Melissa Jagears – A Teaville Moral Socitey Novella
Oh, this was so sweet!!! I loved this one! Humble, hardworking Calvin is insistent that a life with him would be a downgrade to what society girl Marianne is used to.  Marianne is determined to prove Calvin wrong.  I loved her spirit and graciousness.  There was a strong amount of faith content woven throughout the story – an excellent reminder to treat people fairly and help the disadvantaged.  I loved the connection between the novella’s title and the actions in the story – so perfect!  I loved how this wrapped up, and can’t wait for more from Melissa Jagears!

I enjoy novella collections and hope this current trend continues.  I’m looking forward to more stories from these talented ladies!
